Meyers and Poehler did their first “Really?!? With Seth & Amy” of the season last night during the premiere of Weekend Update Thursdays. The pair devoted the segment to perpetrators of recent outbursts such as Congressman Joe Wilson, Serena Williams and Kanye West saying, “No one is impressed when you take your stands against 19-year-old girls, tiny Asian ladies or the first black president. Really? Who are you gonna go after next koalas? Really!?!”

SNL: David Patterson, Gov. Blagojevich, Wedding Toast & More (VIDEO)

Saturday Night Live welcomed Hugh Laurie as host for the final show of 2008. The biggest news came during Weekend Update Amy Poehler said goodbye to her days as a castmember.
Two of the other highlights also came from Weekend Update. In what will be their final installment of “Really?!? with Seth and Amy,” the Update anchors address Illinois Governor Blagojevich’s refusal to resign his position. “It’s beside the point, but… The hair. Really! It looks you’re wearing a toupee that’s also wearing a toupee. It’s a pro-ceeding hairline… The first time I saw you, I thought you were walking away.”

Amy Poehler Tells SNL Goodbye (VIDEO)

Huffington Post |   December 14, 2008 09:55 AM

Amy Poehler really did say goodbye to “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday, less than two months after giving birth to son Archie and several more months after signing a deal for a new “Office”-spinoff on NBC.

She initially told interviewers while pregnant that she would not return at all following her maternity leave, but a week ago she returned to play Hillary Clinton and take her place at the Weekend Update desk.

This Saturday she took the chance to say she was leaving, at least as a cast member, “I just wanted to thank everybody, this is my last show. It has been an amazing experience to be here.” Being Poehler, the sadness was cut with a little humor, in the form of Fred Armisen’s David Patterson impression, who had just appeared in an earlier sketch.

Poehler’s last words from the Update chair were, “I love you, and I will miss all of you so much.”
