February 28, 2011 Pay Up, Corporate Tax Dodgers
We’re chumps unless we force Congress to stop tax haven abuse.

By Chuck Collins

Instead of cutting state and federal budgets, the United States should crack down on the corporate tax dodgers thumbing their noses at us.

Across the nation, states are making deep cuts that will wreck the quality of life for everyone to close budget gaps that total more than $100 billion.

But there’s a more sensible option. Overseas tax havens enable companies to pretend their profits are earned in other countries like the Cayman Islands. Simply making that ruse illegal would bring home an estimated $100 billion a year.

The next time you read a story about some politician bemoaning that “there’s no money” and “we have to make cuts,” just point to artful tax dodgers in our midst.

They include some of the banks that trashed the economy but gladly took our tax dollars to stay alive after the economic meltdown. Bank of America. Wells Fargo. Citigroup.

Goldman Sachs took a $10 billion taxpayer bailout but then gamed its effective tax rate down to one percent through what its shakedown-artist executives call “changes in geographic earnings mix.” Shame on them. Pay up.

See that FedEx delivery van go by on the roads you paid for? Pay up FedEx! Don’t pretend you’re not making billions in the U.S. Don’t lie and tell us you made all those profits on some island with more palm trees than people. We know the demand for coconut delivery isn’t that big.

These corporations are heavy users of our taxpayer funded public infrastructure and property rights protection systems. They use our regulated marketplace, call upon our law enforcement system and judiciary to remedy disputes. They’re protected by U.S. police forces and firefighters. They enjoy all the privileges and benefits of tax-paying citizens. They just don’t pay their fair share for them.

G:
Yep, you guesseder Chester, the same corporate crooks that own the US government. Although many Teabaggers whine about a left wing media, it is almost non existent. Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, on MSNBC, are an exception, as we all noted when Keith was temporarily suspended. He was, of course, re-instated because he is the biggest draw for them. Olbermann does have to walk the line though, and we won’t be hearing much about the Predator drones, with sophisticated electronic warfare capabilities, that are wreaking havoc in the Middle East, nor much about 911 Truth.

The reporters that are brave enough to tell it like it is, like Mike Malloy, are few and far between and have to fight to get any air coverage at all, while idiots like Glenn Beck are heard in all parts of the country. Malloy’s show is currently self-syndicated. Until March 2009 it was syndicated by the Nova M Radio network. Previously, it was syndicated by Air America Radio, but Air America abruptly dropped the show on August 30, 2006. The Mike Malloy Show is currently carried by 13 broadcast stations, mostly on the West Coast, as well as XM satellite radio and Sirius satellite radio. Its broadcast originates from Atlanta, Georgia, though the minimal in-studio staff allows Malloy to broadcast from other locations when he travels. Malloy is the only radio talk show host in America to have received the A.I.R (Achievement in Radio) Award in both Chicago and New York City [2]. Talkers Magazine included Malloy among the their list of “the 250 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts in America” but did not name him as one of the Heavy Hundred.

Crooks & Liars- By Logan Murphy Wednesday Dec 02, 2009 8:00am

Dubbed “the biggest untold story of the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election,” by Free Republic, Larry Sinclair’s absurd claims popped up during the 2008 presidential campaign, and were never taken seriously. Normally, this clown wouldn’t be worth mentioning, but now that he’s decided to run for office in Florida’s 24th district, he’s fair game. More from Dan Carter at Air America:

Larry Sinclair, the man who claimed that he “took drugs [and] had homo sex with Obama” is now running for Congress in Florida’s 24th district. His slogan: “I have served my time, now it’s time I serve my Country.”

Sinclair, author of Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder? and convicted felon, was reportedly offered $10,000 to verify his claims of illicit sex and drug use with then candidate Obama via a polygraph test, which he promptly failed. But deceit is nothing new for Sinclair. Politico did a bit of digging into his background and found a pattern:

The record includes forgery charges in two states, one of which drew Sinclair a 16-year jail sentence. The Pueblo County, Colo., Sheriff’s Office also has an outstanding warrant for Sinclair’s arrest for forging an acquaintance’s signature and stealing her tax refunds.

But should we even be calling him “Larry Sinclair?” According to Colorado records, he has 13 aliases including “LA Rye Vizcarra Avila” and “Mohammed Gahanan.” Read on…

Sinclair is running as an Independent, which makes him a teabagger’s dream! Perhaps he’ll be supported by the Club For Growth? (ok, that was Amato’s joke) Be prepared when clicking the above link to Sinclair’s site, it auto-plays Barbara Streisand’s “Someday.” Yes, really.

The executives over at ABC apparently have a loose interpretation of the word “star,” which is why they’ve allowed known GOP felon Tom DeLay to compete in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. Mike Papantonio discusses the brain dead thinking that obviously took place in the board rooms of ABC, and he also offers us some reminders of DeLay’s most famous crimes.
