Vanity Fair: The Authoritative Trig Palin Conspiracy Time Line

The McCain campaign won’t countenance it, and Barack Obama has even declared it off-limits, but the question of Trig Palin’s parentage—whether his real mom is Sarah Palin or her five-months pregnant, 17-year-old daughter Bristol—has transfixed the blogosphere. To settle the matter once and for all, VF.com presents this handy timeline juxtaposing both the official narrative and the wingnut conspiracy theories. Vote for the most likely scenario after the jump.

Fri Sep 05, 2008 at 06:12:53 PM PDT

The reviews are in and the people love Joe!!  11 pix in all.

Joltin’ Joe Biden went NUCLEAR today, and tore them a new orifice (transcript below).

Do you wanna see Barack or Governor Kooky on your browser for the next four years??

Only 60 days left

Obama/Biden Contribution Page

Make a difference – Every bit counts

Special Note:

► Biden will appear for the full hour this Sunday on Meet The Press.

► Barack will appear on ABC’s This Week.

► Palin will be in secure, undisclosed location, cramming for the debate.

Biden: They announced the unemployment figures nationwide.  For the eighth month in a row, Americans have lost jobs.  We have lost 604,000 jobs in a America, just this calendar year.  We’re in a position where we had 84,000 lost jobs, shattered dreams, broken homes that occurred as a consequence of this loss of work just in the month of August.  We now have 6.1 percent of the American work force idle. And you know what that means.

When a man or woman loses their job, they not only lose their income, they lose their sense of dignity, they lose who their identity, who they are. That’s how we identify ourselves.  That’s how we’re brought up.  That’s how in my neighborhood and yours, you’re identified.  You’re identified by your willingness to work hard, your willingness to do the right thing, your willingness to show up every day and provide for your family.  And so it’s not merely a lost job.  It’s a lost sense of identity that occurs.

This ain’t your father’s Republican Party, by the way.  This is a different Republican Party.

But, I’ll tell you, it’s not so much of what I heard in the Republican convention. When you heard John speak last night.  It’s not so much what I heard, when I heard part of what the Governor had to say, the vice presidential candidate.  It’s what I didn’t hear.

(Standing Ovation)

Ladies and gentlemen, literally, those of you, I can’t swear to this because I didn’t see every bit of every speech. But I asked my staff to check. Do any of you recall either candidate on the Republican ticket utter the phrase, middle class?

Biden: No!

Biden: Did any of you hear them utter the phrase, health care and how we’re going to help?

Biden: No!

Biden: Did you hear them talk about aid to get kids to college?

Crowd: No!

Biden: Did you hear them talk about aid to education?

Crowd: No!

Biden: Did you hear them putting more cops on the street to make us safer?

Crowd: No!

Biden: I didn’t hear a thing, a thing, about any of the things that matter to the lives of the people of my hometown of Scranton….

Rick Davis, John’s campaign manager, said two days into the convention, he said “this election is not about issues.”  That’s what he said.  And everything I saw at the convention demonstrated that.

It was about how well placed — and boy she is good — how a left jab can be stuck pretty nice.  It’s about how Barack Obama is such a bad guy.

It’s about how in fact, how in fact, they got great quips.  Man, they’re like the kids you know when you went to school and you were very proud of the new belt or the shoes you had, and there was always one kid in the class who said, “oh, are they your brother’s?”

Crowd: Yeah.

Remember that kid?  That’s what this is reminding me of.  “Oh, I love your dress, was that your mother’s?”

You know what I’m talking about.

What do you talk about, when you have nothing to say?!

What do you talk about when you CANNOT EXPLAIN THE LAST EIGHT YEARS OF FAILURE?!

(Standing Ovation)

What do you talk about?!  What do you talk about?!

You talk about the other guy.

Crowd: Giv’em Hell, Joe!

Biden: Remember what Harry Truman used to say.  The crowd would yell, “giv’em hell, Harry.”  And he’d say, “I’m not gonna to giv’em hell, I’m gonna tell them the truth, and they’re gonna think it’s HELL.”

(Standing Ovation)

Scott Richter Palin:Todd Palin Business Partner Emergency Motion

Todd Palin’s former business partner, named Scott A. Richter who allegedly had an affair with Sarah Palin filled [filed] an emergency motion to seal his divorce records but it was denied.

The Palins own few undeveloped properties on the Safari Lake and Big Lake, AK in Alaska in partnership with Scott A. Richter and his ex-wife Debbie under “Richter Investments LLC.”.

Debbie Richter was Palin’s campaign treasurer. Richter was awarded a job as the Director of the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend Division for her service.

The State of Alaska gives its citizens “free money” checks every year out of this fund. This “free money” comes from oil royalties collected and investments. The Fund is currently worth $35 billion.

Under Sarah and Debbie’s leadership in 2006, all Permanent Fund claims from residents (you have to make a claim for your check) were lost in a computer data entry failure.

Is Scott Richter Actually Trig Palin’s Real Dad?

By- Suzie-Q @ 4:00 PM MST

Is Scott Richter Actually Trig Palin’s Real Dad?

Thu Sep 04, 2008 at 09:55:01 PM PDT

The National Enquirer is supposed to be breaking the story of a supposed affair between Sarah Palin and her husband’s “business partner.” Question here is Scott Richter the “business partner” they’re talking about?

There are rumors that Scott Richter is an ex-boyfriend of Sarah’s – perhaps before she married Todd.

But here is the funny stuff:

Scott and Debbie Richter work for Todd and Sarah Palin. John Bitney also worked for the Palins.

John Bitney and Debbie Richter have an affair, leaving Scott Richter in the dust.

Todd Palin fires John Bitney over this mess.

John Bitney and Debbie Richter get a Marriage license in 2007.

Debbie Ricter signs at least a couple Quit Claim deeds over to Scott Richter on properties that are co-owned by the Palin’s.

Property records: http://www.matsugov.us/…

There are oddities with the birth of Trig:

MatSu hospital doesn’t have record of his birth on April 18. Nobody seems to have a birth certificate. Media have been making paternity test requests.

Why was Sarah Palin so reluctant to reveal her pregnancy until the 7th month? Did she fly back to Alaska in labor to have the baby in the small town where she could control the information? Was there information she was trying to hide that might have come out had she birthed the baby in a Texas hospital?

Interestingly enough, Scott Richter filed TODAY to make his Divorce records confidential, but was denied:

09/04/2008 Order Denying Motion Case Motion #3: Motion to Make Case File Confidential 0.00 0.00
09/03/2008 Motion to Make Case File Confidential Attorney: Pro per (0100001) Scott Alan Richter (Petitioner); Case Motion #3

After an extended flamefest and various concerns, I still feel this is a valid diary and something that the media should be looking into.

A couple folks had concerns about libel, and everything about affairs that I have cited has been posted elsewhere as well. I have posed the question about paternity, because there is odd behavior going on here.

Nobody was really questioning who Trig’s father was, just if he was Sarah or Bristol’s child.

It was the McCain campaign that threw out the idea of paternity testing – and I am seriously wondering if they put that out there to kill the idea of the press ACTUALLY asking for it!

This is exactly how Karl Rove works: he takes seriously damaging items and packages them in ways so they get overlooked or immediately discounted.

Food for thought.

More update: Other sources are saying that Brad Hanson is the man who the National Enquirer is going to break as Sarah’s secret affair:

So Much for “Abstinence Only”

It doesn’t work for preventing alcohol abuse by teenagers any more than it works for preventing pregnancy.

Right, Bristol?

This is, I do admit, a bit on the snarky side, but remember, kiddies-the “values” wingtards of Jesusistan (where Sarah Palin is a revered icon) have been preaching to us ad infinitum that THEIR values will PREVENT things like underage drinking and teen pregnancy.

I don’t think so……

Given the pics above, this doesn’t look like such a hot idea either, does it?

Westmoreland Stands by “Obama is Uppity” Remark

Posted by Basheert @2:29pm – From Think Progress

Westmoreland stands by ‘uppity’ remark: ‘It accurately describes’ Obama.

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) is standing by the remarks he made yesterday that the Obamas are part of an “elitist-class…that thinks that they’re uppity.” According to the AP, Westmoreland says that he was unaware that the word was offensive:

west.jpg In a statement Friday, Westmoreland – who was born in 1950 and raised in the segregated South – said he didn’t know that “uppity” was commonly used as a derogatory term for blacks seeking equal treatment. Instead, he referred to the dictionary definition of the word as describing someone who is haughty, snobbish or has inflated self-esteem.

“He stands by that characterization and thinks it accurately describes the Democratic nominee,” said Brian Robinson, Westmoreland’s spokesman. “He was unaware that the word had racial overtones and he had absolutely no intention of using a word that can be considered offensive.”

As the AP also notes, last year, Westmoreland “led opposition to renewing the 1965 Voting Rights Act. He also was one of two House members last year who opposed g i ving the Justice Department more money to crack unsolved civil rights killings.”

UpdateThe Washington Post’s Jonathan Weisman isn’t buying Westmoreland’s excuse:

Having grown up in Atlanta, very near where Rep. Lynn Westmoreland grew up, I can say pretty unequivocally that there is no way a native Georgian could not have known the racial context of that word. Georgia in the 60s and 70s was a study in black and white (it’s much more diverse now), and racial subtexts were everywhere. I do not buy his defense.

Fact Check: Palin’s Dishonest Speech

anthony @ 20:36 BST

The AP took a closer look at some of the claims in Sarah Palin’s speech Wednesday and found that the VP nominee, like some of her allies, is simply full of it on a number of points.

JIM KUHNHENN | Associated PressWed Sep 3, 11:48 PM ET

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.

Some examples:

PALIN: “I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending … and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress ‘thanks but no thanks’ for that Bridge to Nowhere.”

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a “bridge to nowhere.”

PALIN: “There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate.”

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

PALIN: “The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars.”

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama’s plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain’s plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise. (more…)

Investigation into Palin Now on Fast Track

Sources Tell ABC News that Report Will Be Released Almost Three Weeks Early

ABC News has exclusively learned that Alaska Senator Hollis French will announce today that he is moving up the release date of his investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired. The results of the investigation were originally scheduled for release Oct. 31 but will now come almost three weeks earlier, according to sources.

The announcement is set for 9 a.m. AKDT time.

The Alaska state senator running an investigation of Gov. Palin had accused the McCain campaign of using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31, four days before the November election.

“It’s likely to be damaging to the Governor’s administration,” said Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, appointed the project manager for a bi-partisan State Senate Legislative Counsel Committee investigation.

Palin, who has denied any wrongdoing and has said she has nothing to hide, has hired private lawyers to represent her in the matter.
