Is It Over For McCain?

Is it over for McCain?

Tue Sep 02, 2008 at 08:01:27 PM PDT

Unbelievable – my apologies to begin with — but driving home tonight I was surfing the dial on my radio and I heard someone rant and rave about McCain/Palin

So I had to listen — and to my horror and amazement it was Michael Savage.

He is absolutely certain that someone set up McCain – someone is trying to sabotage the McCain Presidential run – someone set him up to make the distasterous choice for V.P. in Palin

if you dare – more after the break

coming from Savage – I can only say I am totally amazed —

When rightwing nutjob rats start jumping ship — how long will it be before the rest of them follow?

http://michaelsavage.wnd.com/…

They can pretend that only evil, sexist, misogynists are against Sarah Palin. But the truth is that McCain’s cronies have made a fatal choice. They ran this gal up the flagpole and the pole broke from shock.

In Ancient Rome, the Publicans were contractors for the military and public works. The KBR of their time. Now the Re-Publicans are into contracting as well. And they seem to have taken out a contract on the presidential candidacy of John McCain. He could have been a contender. He could have been someone. But the powers that be have said, “Let Obama win.” And that is exactly what John McCain seems to be doing. I’m Michael Savage and I approve this monologue.

All this as Gustav was bearing down. Mr. McCain, why is it you can’t control your own party? (and by “party” we do mean “party”).

Everyone goes through tough times. Americans are a nation of whiners.

Thanks to Pennsylvania for Change for this doozy.

Sarah Palin Premature Withdrawal Watch!

(From Wonkette who so kindly linked Suzie-Q to their story!)  🙂

Poor Sarah Palin! We mean, “Sarah Palin lies everyday about everything!” In any case, our beloved junior governor from Alaska is now embroiled in so many snowbilly scandals that she’s probably not going to last through the week. Let’s start this fun new feature, about all the ways poor Sarah is about to be tossed off the ticket, maybe.

What have the Main Stream Media discovered about Our Mrs. Palin?

Palin Compassionate Conservative?

Palin personally cut funding that gave unwed mothers a place to live

Yes, Palin did it herself. The Washington Post has a photo of the budget with her handwriting on it. She’s such a compassionate, right wing theocrat:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee who revealed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, earlier this year used her line-item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live.

After the legislature passed a spending bill in April, Palin went through the measure reducing and eliminating funds for programs she opposed. Inking her initials on the legislation — “SP” — Palin reduced funding for Covenant House Alaska by more than 20 percent, cutting funds from $5 million to $3.9 million. Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage mothers.

According to Passage House’s web site, its purpose is to provide “young mothers a place to live with their babies for up to eighteen months while they gain the necessary skills and resources to change their lives” and help teen moms “become productive, successful, independent adults who create and provide a stable environment for themselves and their families.”

Sarah Palin: “Don’t cry for me, oh Wasilla!”

By- Bruce @ 5:02 PM PDT

Don't cry for me Delegation

Palita

It won’t be easy, you’ll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after only five days

Oh please believe me
I still am the babe that you always knew
Who drank at the Mug-shot Saloon
And hunted for wild Caribou

I had to let it happen, I had to change
If I wanted to be the best VP
Despite “Troopergate” and my daughter’s baby

Yes I choose limelight
Helping McCain secure up his base
Even though I lack credentials
I still have a beautiful face

Don’t cry for me, oh Wasilla
The truth is I never left you
I’m still your Governor
Until November
And maybe after
If voters render

As for ambition, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seems to the world they are all I desire

They are illusions
They are not the solutions they promised to be
Even though I am a woman
I know that I’m not Hillary

Don’t cry for me, oh Wasilla
I’ll save my own self, you will see
I’ve got a lawyer
I’m off the edge
I’m claiming Exec-
Privilege

Have I said too much?
There’s nothing more I can think of to say to you.
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word… is true!

BREAKING: Palin Business Shut Down By State?

BREAKING: Palin Business Shut Down by State

Tue Sep 02, 2008 at 02:48:00 PM PDT

The WaPo is now reporting that Sarah Palin and her husband were part owners of a business that was shut down by the state for noncompliance with state regulations:

State records show the business ran into trouble with Alaska’s division of corporations business and professional licensing after Palin became governor of the state in 2006.

A Feb. 11, 2007 letter to the governor’s business partner advises that the car wash had “not filed its biennial report and/or paid its biennial fees,” which were more than a year overdue.

The warning letter was written on state letterhead, which carried Palin’s name at the top, next to the state seal.

On April 3, 2007, the state went further and issued a “certificate of involuntary dissolution” because of the car wash’s failure to file its report and pay state licensing fees.

How can this woman be trusted to run the U.S. government if she can’t even run a carwash in Anchorage with plenty of help?

rethuglican highlights: you can’t make this stuff up

by betmo @ 7:18 PM EDT

but stupes will still vote right wing

my thought- rove is an ‘unofficial’ adviser to mccain’s campaign- i think he gave the word for palin’s nomination-why else would he use the word ‘brilliant?’

anybody else hear about john mccain’s temper? well, somebody might want to start taking notice- he apparently calls people names and throws tantrums

aside from all of her other issues– sarah palin has decided not to attend her soiree` thrown by phyllis schlafly– instead, she will probably be meditating about motherhood and grandmotherhood– and whether or not she has foreign policy experience. media doesn’t seem to know.

remember how i said that disgraced, scandal-ridden rethuglicans never really go away- they are just recycled? sigh. i was correct.

gingrich

gramm

the gulf coast region is part of the nation’s bible belt. their god must be really pissed at them. gustav and newspaper filled levees aside- they have political shenanigans being pulled that puts sarah palin’s ‘troopergate’ scandal in the pee wee leagues.

and, just because a rethug in a smack down is fun:

McCain Manager: ‘This Election is Not About Issues’

UPDATE, 6:18 pm: In reaction to Rick Davis’ comments about the election not being about issues, Barack Obama campaign manager David Plouffe released the following statement: “We appreciate Senator McCain’s campaign manager finally admitting that his campaign is not in fact about the issues the American people care about, which is exactly the kind of cynical old politics people are ready to change.”

ORIGINAL POST

Rick Davis, campaign manager for John McCain‘s presidential bid, insisted that the presidential race will be decided more over personalities than issues during an interview with Post editors this morning.

“This election is not about issues,” said Davis. “This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates.”

Davis added that issues will no doubt play a major role in the decisions undecided voters will make but that they won’t ultimately be conclusive. He added that the campaign has “ultimate faith” in the idea that the more voters get to know McCain and Barack Obama, the better the Republican nominee will do.

Davis generally dismissed the controversies surrounding McCain’s vice presidential pick — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — as a media creation but did acknowledge that her acceptance speech, which seems likely to come tomorrow, is critically important to defining who she is to the American public.

Uh-oh…until 2002 Todd Palin major secessionist party member w/Updated with Digg Link

Tue Sep 02, 2008 at 01:12:07 PM PDT

Josh Marshall, under the title of “We’re Outta Here” notes that Todd Palin was, until 2002, and that

This afternoon, the director of Division of Elections in Alaska, Gail Fenumiai, told TPMmuckraker that Todd Palin registered in October 1995 to the Alaska Independence Party, a radical group that advocates for Alaskan secession from the United States.

Marshall notes, coincidentally, that 2002 was the year that Sarah Palin first ran for statewide office.

Of course, I’m sure McCain had this information after his vetting team returned from Alaska, having checked out all public records regarding Todd Palin.

What? What’s that you say?

Oh….

Anyway, here’s another nugget for the Palindrome.

As an extra added diversion, the batboy returns crowd (Palin’s base, I’m thinking) is getting a little eye candy at their supermarket check out stands:

I think the mourning period begins soon. It’s not looking good for the governor.

MAJOR UPDATE RELATED TO NOTHING CONTAINED IN THIS DIARY: CNN is reporting that John McCain has canceled today’s scheduled interview on Larry King due to Campbell Brown’s interview with Tucker Bounds yesterday!

Holy Shit. This is imploding.
