Feds raid Blackwater’s armory in firearms probe

Federal agents have raided an armory owned by security contractor Blackwater Worldwide.
The North Carolina-based company said the raid was part of an investigation into a deal that allowed a local sheriff’s office to store high-powered assault rifles at the company’s armory at its headquarters in Moyock.
Blackwater spokeswoman Anne Tyrrell says that investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched Blackwater’s armory Tuesday.
She said she did not know whether the weapons in question were seized.
Tyrrell said ATF has known about the arrangement for a long time and that the company believes it is lawful and proper.
Both ATF and U.S. Attorney George Holding declined to comment.

This is as unlikely a news story as has come down the pike for a while. Up until now the federal government has bent over backwards to protect Blackwater from any liability. It makes me wonder WTF is really going on.
Could this have anything to do with the recent SCOTUS decision on the right to bear arms? Certainly Blackwater is in a better position to defend against any criminal or civil action than they were last week. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Blackwater/KBR and the rest of the administration’s hired goons redefined as ‘a well-regulated militia’ just prior to the November elections. I’m sure you can imagine all kinds of implications.

A former Blackwater employee, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the investigation includes a look at whether Blackwater shipped weapons from its Moyock headquarters to Iraq hidden in pallets wrapped tightly in shrink wrap.

Gas costs so much, the cost of food is going way up. No one seems to have anything extra. I worry about my kids in this world.
Yes, people all across America are feeling the effects of this economy… high gas prices, high food prices, high utility prices, etc.. and people are losing their jobs and their homes.
