McCain: America’s Worst Senator For Children?

By- Suzie-Q @ 4:00 PM MST

Why doesn’t John Sidney McCain like the kiddies?

by GottaLaff · Thursday February 28, 03:01 PM

Hey kids! Guess who’s not on your side? (Read the full report here)

[T]he Children’s Defense Fund Action Council released its 2007 Nonpartisan Congressional Scorecard. CDF reports some positive news, particularly that average scores for members of Congress “improved from the previous three years with more Members scoring 100 percent than in 2004, 2005 or 2006.”

Many, however, did not fare so well. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) received a 10 percent rating — the worst in the U.S. Senate.

Can you spell “booooo”, boys and girls?

CDF ranked members on 10 votes affecting children:

1. Increase minimum wage (H.R. 2)
2. Increase funding for children with disabilities (S. Con. Res. 21)
3. Protect children from unsafe medications (S. 1082)
4. 2008 Budget resolution (S. Con. Res. 21)
5. SCHIP Reauthorization (H.R. 976)
6. College Cost Reduction and Access Act (H.R. 2669)
7. SCHIP (H.R. 976 – motion to concur)
8. DREAM Act (S. 2205)
9. Funding child health and education (H.R. 3043)
10. Improving Head Start programs (H.R. 1429)

Remember, kids, don’t talk to strangers, don’t lick the floor, and most of all, Grandpa Sidney is not your friend!

McCain has missed 57 percent of Senate votes this session, being absent or voting “present” for 8 out of 10 children-related votes. McCain voted “yes” to increase the minimum wage; his only other vote was voting “no” on SCHIP reauthorization on Aug. 2, 2007.

Oh noooooo! Bad Sidney! He is officially uninvited to next week’s play date at little Wolfie Blitzer’s house.

Furthermore, the rankings weren’t divided by party. Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and Gordon Smith (R-OR) received strong 70 percent rankings.

McCain’s CDF score has steadily declined over the years. In 2004, he received a 38 percent; in 2005, 22 percent; in 2006, 10 percent.

Looks like Gramps isn’t so grandfatherly after all.

9/11 Physics: “You Can’t Use Common Sense”

They say everything changed on 9/11, and they sure weren’t whistling Dixie! We all learned something about physics we would never have guessed.

All things change and disharmony reverts to the stillness of truth when the bagpipes are quieted…G:

Well here it is folks, right out here in front of God and everybody. These nerds from the JREF blog have been very busy on the innertubes, even setting up web sites like the ones of Mark Roberts. Ronald Wieck claims that he can find no one from the Truth Movement (his term) that “has the stones” to accept an interview on his show. What a laugh. He probably doesn’t have enough paper to send copies to all of the Architects, Engineers, Scientists, Generals in the military, Ex CIA men, etc. etc. I think the trick here is….you have to first be invited to accept…G: They also showed up on Susie-Q’s blog on the post Who is Arthur Scheuerman? Pomaroo & Gravy (the nerds in the video) in spite of their smug condemnation of what they call troofers and their proclamation that they can’t get one to accept their invitation are indeed interviewing someone from Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice, who is a member and holds a Fire Science Technology AAS Degree.

Pop up some popcorn, pull up a chair & enjoy the show

US Navy Sends 3 Warships To Eastern Mediterranean

By- Suzie-Q @ 12:30 PM MST

3 U.S. warships sent to Mediterranean…threats to Syria? Naah!

by GottaLaff · Thursday February 28, 07:32 PM

Do they think everyone in the world, including us, is stupid? You can stop laughing now.

The U.S. Navy is sending three ships to the eastern Mediterranean Sea in a show of strength during a period of tensions with Syria and political uncertainty in Lebanon.

Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters the deployment should not be viewed as threatening or in response to events in any single country in the volatile region.

Wow, oh, whew! For a second there, just one crazy little minuscule second, I mistook that for threatening and in response to events!

It’s a group of ships that will operate in the vicinity there for a while,” adding that “it isn’t meant to send any stronger signals than that. But it does signal that we’re engaged, we’re going to be in the vicinity, and that’s a very, very important part of the world.”

Ohh, it’s just a bunch of boats out for some floaty fun… in a volatile area… where we could provoke another war! Gaaaa! Deep breath. I’m okay. Are you okay? I’m okay. We’re okay.

Bill Buckley’s Conservatism

 anthony @ 18:20 GMT

Jacob Heilbrunn | Huff Post  | Posted February 28, 2008 | 01:18 PM (EST)
With the death of William F. Buckley, Jr., conservatives have been eulogizing him as a pivotal figure in the history of their movement. President Bush declared, “His legacy lives on in the ideas he championed and in the magazine he founded — National Review.”

Not exactly. As Buckley headed into his final years, he became vehemently opposed to the crusading, neoconservative stance that the younger generation at National Review adopted in championing the Iraq War. Indeed, both Buckleys, William F. and his brilliantly talented son Christopher, became acidulous critics of President Bush and vice-president Dick Cheney. The elder Buckley declared that if Bush were serving in a parliamentary democracy, he would have to resign, if not impeached. And Christopher, writing recently in the Washington Monthly, noted that he hopes the GOP loses in 2008: “Who knew, in 2000, that “compassionate conservatism” meant bigger government, unrestricted government spending, government intrusion in personal matters, government ineptitude, and cronyism in disaster relief?” (more…)

McCain Slips And Calls Himself A “Liberal Republican”…

By- Suzie-Q @ 11:00 AM MST

John McCain ‘Accidentally’ Calls Himself A “Liberal Republican”

At a town hall meeting in Richardson, Texas, Thursday afternoon, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., made a gaffe that will surely provide myriad conservative radio talk show hosts confirmation of their views, by accidentally calling himself a liberal.

“I will conduct a respectful debate,” McCain told the crowd at Texas Instruments, per ABC News’ Bret Hovell. “Now, it will be spirited because there are stark differences. I am a proud conservative, liberal Republica— conservative Republican,” he said, catching himself. “Hello?” he said as the crowd laughed. “Easy there.”

The “Official” 9/11 Story Contradicted by the FBI!

GEF @ 10:08 AM MST

FBI documents contradict 9/11 Commission report

Hijacker had post-9/11 flights scheduled, files say

Newly-released records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request contradict the 9/11 Commission’s report on the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and raise fresh questions about the role of Saudi government officials in connection to the hijackers.

The nearly 300 pages of a Federal Bureau of Investigation timeline used by the 9/11 Commission as the basis for many of its findings were acquired through a FOIA request filed by Kevin Fenton, a 26 year old translator from the Czech Republic. The FBI released the 298-page “hijacker timeline” Feb. 4.

The FBI timeline reveals that alleged hijacker Hamza Al-Ghamdi, who was aboard the United Airlines flight which crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center, had booked a future flight to San Francisco. He also had a ticket for a trip from Casablanca to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Though referenced repeatedly in the footnotes of the final 9/11 Commission report, the timeline has not previously been made available to the public.

The FBI timeline is dated Nov. 14, 2003 but appears to have been put together earlier (since the last date mentioned in the document is Oct. 22, 2001) and was provided to the 9/11 Commission during its 2003 investigation. The final Commission report cites the FBI timeline 52 times.

WHY ARE THE NEO-CONS(DHS) ALLOWING THIS ??

‘Thousands of Aliens’ in U.S. Flight Schools Illegally

By BRIAN ROSS, VIC WALTER and ERIC LONGABARDI

Thousands of foreign student pilots have been able to enroll and obtain pilot licenses from U.S. flight schools, despite tough laws passed in the wake of the 9/ll attacks, according to internal government documents obtained by ABC News.

“Some of the very same conditions that allowed the 9-11 tragedy to happen in the first place are still very much in existence today,” wrote one regional security official to his boss at the TSA, the Transportation Security Administration.

“Thousands of aliens, some of whom may very well pose a threat to this country, are taking flight lessons, being granted FAA certifications and are flying planes,” wrote the TSA official, Richard A. Horn, in 2005, complaining that the students did not have the proper visas.
