SNL: GOP 2012 Undeclared Candidates Debate

Crooks and Liars- By Heather
May 07, 2011 09:35 PM

Since so many of the undeclared potential presidential contenders decided to skip the first official Republican primary debate, Saturday Night Live decided to treat us to their version of the GOP 2012 Undeclared Candidates Debate, with Tina Fey returning as Sarah Palin.

The segment also featured Bill Hader as Fox’s Shepard Smith, Jason Sudeikis as Mitt Romney, Darrell Hammond as Donald Trump, Kristen Wiig as Michele Bachmann, Bobby Moynihan as Newt Gingrich and Kenan Thompson as the Rent is Too Damn High Party’s Jimmy McMillan.

As expected, Fey stole the show with her Palin impression.

SNL Returns with Christine O’Donnell as First Political Target with Masturbation Parody

Crooks & Liars- By Heather

September 26, 2010 04:00 AM

Saturday Night Live started off their season premier with having a bit of fun at Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell’s expense and her remarks on witchcraft and masturbation. I await her response where she again plays the victim card like her mentor Sarah Palin and comes on Fox and tells the rest of us how that “liberal mainstream media”, otherwise known as a comedy show on NBC is picking on her.

Hunky Scott Brown Is Every Democrat’s Fantasy (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01-31-10 09:56 AM   |   Updated: 01-31-10 10:17 AM

In an “SNL” sketch last night, Democrats unable to find the appeal of newly elected Scott Brown were swooned by a winking, shirtless Jon Hamm. The guest host was hilarious impersonating the Massachusetts Senator, perfectly playing the role of hunk and showing up in the fantasies of Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and others.

An infatuated Pelosi (Kristen Wiig) was quite taken with Brown’s political come-ons: “I want to introduce something to the floor. It’s called ‘Your Panties.’”

UPDATE:
The Salahis did not appear on SNL’s opening scene. But the show did begin with a clip lampooning the party crashers and a Secret Service of enablers.

WATCH VIDEO HERE

The party-crashing couple that embarrassed the Secret Service and brought scrutiny to protocol at White House social events by getting into a state dinner may be in on the joke.

According to The Washington Post blog The TV Column, Tareq and Michaele Salahi are slated to appear in tonight’s opening skit of Saturday Night Live:

As of Thursday, the NBC late-night show was planning to open with a skit in which, with cast members playing all the parts, President Obama would give a speech with his cabinet behind him. Suddenly, he’s interrupted by the Salahis, who have crashed the speech — Michaele Salahi in a red,red sari, just like the one she wore when she and her husband allegedly crashed that White House state dinner last month.

The Salahis were asked about a possible SNL appearance on Friday, when the couple arrived in court. They were there over a dispute on a $925 landscaping bill. Tareq Slahi smiled, when he was asked about the appearance, but said nothing, according to The Warren County Report Newspaper.

Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively is set to host Saturday’s show.

SNL Vs. Obama: Sketch Details All The President’s Failures Since Taking Office (VIDEO)

Huffington Post |  Alex Leo First Posted: 10- 4-09 08:50 AM   |   Updated: 10- 4-09 10:11 AM

“Saturday Night Live” opened its show with a particularly harsh send-up of President Obama last night. The critique focused on failed promises, as a checklist repeatedly appeared to the right of the screen that had “NOT DONE” checked off next to the following categories: global warming, immigration reform, gays in the military, limits on executive powers, torture prosecutions, closing Gitmo, withdrawing from Iraq, improving the status of the fight in Afghanistan, health care reform, etc.

“There are those on the right who are angry. They think that I’m turning this great country into something that resembles the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany, but that’s just not the case. But when you look at my record it’s very clear what I’ve done so far and that is nothing. Nada. Almost one year and nothing to show for it.”

While the president is three and a half months shy of his one year mark, we get the point. The sketch made clear that this is a critique of Obama from the left: “I just don’t see why the right is so riled up, I mean how do you think the left feels. They’re the ones who should be mad.” And the writers pointed out that with a super majority in the Senate, getting his agenda through shouldn’t be a particularly difficult undertaking.

Huffington Post |   April 12, 2009 at 09:35 AM

Zac Efron of “High School Musical” fame hosted this week’s Saturday Night Live. The opening skit showed Vice President Biden keeping the Oval office warm for President Obama and welcoming the President back from his trip abroad. Biden was his usual effusive self. Other noteworthy skits included “High School Musical 4,” a “cool” bar where the patrons are all unusually young, and Weekend Update.

Moments later Jolie, played by Amy Elliot, interrupts and challenges Madonna over who has babies from more exotic locales.

SNL: Rush Limbaugh Electric Shocks Michael Steele On Update (VIDEO)

Huffington Post |  Katherine Thomson   |   March 8, 2009 09:01 AM

“Saturday Night Live” covered the Michael Steele v. Rush Limbaugh story this week by having Steele (Keenan Thompson) stop by Weekend Update to talk with Seth Meyers.

He turned around to reveal the electric node in his head that delivered a shock every time the GOP leader said something not Rush approved.

“Rush Limbaugh is just an entertainer. [Bzzt} Ah! A great entertainer! [Bzzt] Ah! A beacon of truth and light in times of uncertainty!”

Kudos to Thompson for playing electrocuted so well.

SNL: Jonas Brothers, Alec Baldwin, Jack McBrayer, Cameron Diaz & More (VIDEO)

Huffington Post |  Katherine Thomson   |   February 15, 2009 08:56 AM

Alec Baldwin hosted SNL this week with musical guest The Jonas Brothers, who also joined Baldwin for a skit and starred in the Digital Short.

The show opening was a deluded Republican strategy session, seen here.

During his monologue, Baldwin took a moment for a message.

“I want to say, thank you Christian Bale, who has replaced me as the person most synonymous with recorded celebrity meltdown. Thank you Christian.”

He then called on fellow “30 Rock” cast member Kenneth the Page player Jack McBrayer, sitting in the audience, who proved to be more popular than Baldwin.

SNL lampoons Pelosi, Reid: ‘Stimulus will bum you out’

Raw Story- David Edwards and Jeremy Gantz
Published: Sunday February 8, 2009

After a contentious week in Washington reworking the massive stimulus bill, Democratic Congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid didn’t get along very well during a mock press conference on Saturday Night Live.

Reid, played by Fred Armisen, said the size of the stimulus bill now awaiting vote in the Senate “will just bum you out.” But Pelosi, played by Kristen Wiig, admitted “if we thought you’d be cool with a trillion, we’d take it in a hardbeat.”

Obama’s push for a new era of bipartisanship isn’t all its cracked up to be, Pelosi said during the Feb. 7 broadcast. “For 8 years they didn’t seem to care much about reaching across the aisle, but now it’s ‘Boo hoo, what about us.’ Give me a break….

“After they treated the Democrats like sewer rats for 8 years, we were worried that bipartisanship didn’t matter to them,” Pelosi said sarcastically.
