AIPAC March 25, 2010
After meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) praised the Israeli leader and reaffirmed the U.S.-Israel alliance. “We in Congress stand by Israel; in Congress we speak with one voice on the subject of Israel,” Pelosi said. Well, who will ever doubt that. But what does all this in fact mean?
Thank you Wordzeezer for this post.

It means that the U.S. Congress supports the expansion of the illegal Israeli settlements in Occupied Territories of Palestine by violating and challenging all norms of international law and the Geneva Conventions. But isn’t such support itself an offense as aiding and abetting under international law?
The reign of terror and the killings of the captive Palestinian population by the Israeli State and its armed forces is permissible because the perpetrator is Israel; therefore, no need to stop Israel from such actions and such policies! Neither does the Israeli economic and political strangulation of the population of Gaza in what is commonly acknowledged as the largest prison on Earth has any meaning for the U.S. lawmakers.
And yet some people look at the U.S. legislators as the defenders of democracy and international law. Wow!
