Martial Law Declared in the United States?
It is official. The Constitution has been suspended.
Martial Law has been declared by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (before the market fell 800 points). This declaration of martial law is presumably in response to the [manufactured] financial crisis at hand.
This may still be a “secret,” but if Representative Michael Burgess is telling the truth, there are no longer three equal branches of government. The United States is now under dictatorship. The ‘Decider’ is now the Dictator.
I didn’t foresee martial law beginning until after October 1, when this Brigade goes live here in the HOMELAND.
Will there be elections? Only our American Furor has the power to decide now.

from what i could find- it looks like it’s congressional martial law- whatever that means. from what i could find out- pelosi and crew are doing to the rethugs what the rethugs did to them while they were majority- meetings they aren’t invited to, rushing legislation, forcing votes and stuff.
Congressional Martial Law ?? Do you see any Congressmen holed up in Congress not allowed to leave ? Actually it’s a Jewish Holiday today and there are few Congress persons actually in House.
I doubt he meant Congressional Martial Law… Perhaps the Congressmen may have let the cat out of the bag so-to-speak.

Ya know (to borrow Sleazy Sarah’s slang … how does she shove her voice into her nose)?
I absolutely REFUSE to believe that we are under martial law – or that the “Decider” (who cannot find a bathroom alone) is now a dictator.
There is no cat in bag – I’ve spent the last 7.5 years believing that Dubya is a creep … he’s still a creep – but that’s all he is. His legacy is dead – and we are NOT under martial law.
Stop spreading rumors. It isn’t polite to scare people (or try) – we’ve seen the Repigs try this for almost 8 years and people are sick and tired of manipulation, including this type of scare tactic from everyone. The “Boy who cried Wolf” has more in common with the US that people realize. We are all very very tired of this type of tactic – it isn’t working any more.

Everyone here knows full well what Bush and Cheney are capable of and since McCain is falling fast in the polls I thought this was logical.

I did watch the video… Nobody said The Constitution has been suspended. Where did you get that??
(And it is Fuhrer, btw, not Furor. The Army Times has updated that story, btw, check it out. And a brigade is 4,000 troops…hardly enough to even put tiny Rhode Island under martial law let alone the U.S.A. Stop taking the conspiranoia pills.)

There have been rumblings of the US being under martial law. When I came across this, I did a little research and discovered that martial law has two different meanings. The main meaning is what we’re all afraid of: putting us under the control of the armed forces.
The second meaning refers to a House rule and has nothing to do with soldiers in our streets. Here is the text of the rule:
That House rule (Rule XIII(6)(a)) provides that a resolution (called a rule) reported by the Rules Committee cannot be considered by the House on the same legislative day that the rule is reported (except by a two-thirds vote of the House). This is supposed to ensure that Members of the House and the public have at least one day to examine and analyze what is in legislation before they have to debate and vote on it.
This extraordinary procedure is known as a “martial law” rule because it suspends the normal procedures and safeguards and allows the House Leadership to operate in a more authoritarian fashion.
With that out of the way, it’s my duty to inform you that this is not a reason to stop being vigilant. With trillions at stake, small things like liberty prove to be less important than we’d prefer to believe.

Oh *please*. That was purely rhetorical; it was just a Republican whining because they don’t control the House anymore. Only a conspiracy theorist would think that that *actually* meant the US was under martial law.

The martial law bits on the net is just sheer stupidity.
I blame first and foremost the person who posted the video without proper explanation of the context and spreading distorted factsa s a results.
