American Genocide In The Middle East: Three Million and Counting

August 9, 2007 by sudhan

By David Goodner

Deaths directly and indirectly attributable to the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq have neared one million people, a body count higher than the genocides in Rwanda and Sudan combined, according to a new report released by Just Foreign Policy.

That brings the U.S. caused death count in the Middle East to over three million people, and that’s not even counting fatalities in Afghanistan or Palestine.

The Just Foreign Policy report is an update to two controversial studies published by the prestigious British medical journal the Lancet. In 2003, the Lancet reported over 100,000 excess deaths in Iraq were attributal to the U.S. invasion. That study may be read here.

In 2006, the Lancet updated their study and found over 600,000 excess deaths in Iraq since the U.S. invasion. That study may be read here.

The killing of Iraqis since the U.S. invasion includes violence caused by the overwhelming air and ground power of U.S. military forces, mortalities caused by the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and disappearances and murders caused by sectarian conflict and internal power struggles among different Iraqi factions.

    Haven’t you heard?

    Death is the new freedom. Everywhere George W. Bush and his merry band of neocons travel, death follows.

    The neoCONjobs, the GOP, and the Democrats who voted for this war ALL have blood on their hands that they will not be able to wash off..

    It’s embedded in their souls.

    ———-

    Christopher,

    quote:
    Death is the new freedom. Everywhere George W. Bush and his merry band of neocons travel, death follows.

    –If you would use Biblical analogy on the neoCONjobs you could say that they are the Grey Horse in the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

    Wherever the horse rides death and hell follow.

    On the subject of Biblibal analogies, you could say that the woman on the scarlet beast, the whore of Babylon, the great city which rules over the kings of the earth, is the money-lending elite which controls many of the governments of this world including, through the privately-owned Federal reserve, the government of the United States.

    The debtor is slave to the lender.

    And the great city itself? Well, its a great end-time, commercial metropolis, which has made a lot of money from her sorceries (pharmakeia, drugs, opium, for example), and slavery, among other things… .

    And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus… .

    Given that some of the most vocal opposition to Federal government in the US comes from the so-called Christian patriots or Militia (a mixed bunch, I admit), it’s not difficult to see how the blood-letting can come about.

    Waco on a larger scale?

    I can’t see things just carrying on as they are, with encroaching tyranny, and things not beginning to stir for much longer.

    GEF,

    Excellent analogy.

    But then again, think about: President Batshit Crazy tells people (much to the thrill of his wingnut supporters) that when he’s driving around at the Crawford pig farm, inhaling all that methane, he talks to God and — get this, God talks to him!

    George Bush is ready for the funny farm, or at very least a padded cell, good, phychotropic drugs and no access to sharp objects!

    He’s a fucking loon!

    Christopher,

    LOL*) You sound like me a few posts ago…

    I really believe that bush devil really is clinically insane.

    I mean rubber room ready crazy, not fun crazy in case some people think I’m joking. I’m not.

    The signs are all there. Bush has gone mad.

    As far as Cheney, he’s just plain evil and greedy.

    Anthony,

    The American Pastors are all wrapped up in the American flag to say what everyone else is thinking…

    Truth is that “Babylon is America.”

    Who spreads her sins all over the world…

    From Pornography to Economic Pyramid Schemes that benefit the rich, to Military Arms and Hurtful Viral and Artificial Food Technologies that do not benefit anyone in the long run except the Corporations..

    America exports all that evil so that’s why we are who is mentioned in the Bible we are.

    GEF,

    I have a post up suggesting, just suggesting, mind you, that Bush’s mental decline from a decade ago may have something to do with an earlier case of untreated Lyme Disease.

    I’m not a doctor, but the signs of mental confusion are all there.

    Christopher,

    There’s no harm in talking to God. It’s called prayer and I practice it regularly. People who do so are generally said to suffer less from mental illness than those who don’t – at least according to an article I read years ago in Reader’s Digest.

    What is dangerous is Bush saying that God told him to invade Iraq. If Bush believes that, then he is clearly delusional.

    But I don’t think he does. It’s just BS which he said for the benefit of the religious right who helped elect and re-elect him.

    I think Bush and Cheney are much of a muchness, except that whereas Bush is evil and stupid, Cheney is evil and much cleverer at being evil than Bush.

    “Babylon is America”
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Babylon, I think, is a religious/monetary system originating in Babylon and more or less synonymous with what Christ in his letter to the church in Smyrna calls the “synagogue of Satan” and what Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2 calls the “mystery of iniquity (AV) or the “secret power of lawlessness”, which was already at work when he was writing.
    Through the money it lends to the governments of this world, it rules over the “kings” of the earth.
    But it is also a great end-time city, where a one world government, probably based around a beefed-up United Nations, and aided by ten regional security councils governing ten regions which the world will be divided into, will be based.
    New York merchants, and merchants from New England cities, and London in the UK exported opium (pharmakeia, translated “sorceries” in English-language versions of the Bible), to China, and traded in slaves (NY considered seceding from the Union before the Civil War as she traded heavily with the south, and at one time was a slave port), and NY seems to be the best fit for this city.
    Paul says that something/someone which holds back the secret power of lawless, or holds sway (the secret power of lawlessness itself) must be taken out of the way before “he” (the Antichrist?) is revealed.
    Is it the power of this religious/monetary system which is to be taken out of the way, and is the way this is to be accomplished the destruction of the whore, the great city which rules over the kings of the earth as described in Revelation 17?
    Some believe that One World Government is to be achieved through American power (the neo-con delusion). Others, through her destruction as she stands in the way of One World Government.
    According to my understanding of 2 Thessalonians and Revelation 17, this monetary/religious system, centred around NY and London, will be destroyed by the Antichrist and his ten associates to make way for One World Government.
    It is then that we will see the cashless society, long heralded by the international bankers, introduced, and the persecution of all those who don’t fit in with this system.
    But parts of North America will constitute the wilderness to which the woman of Revelation 12, the Church, the true believers flee.
    Anthony,
    You give Bush much more credit than the rest of us. I think (and many others share this POV) that Bush is a stark-raving sociopath.
    He’s indeed, delusional and extremely dangerous.
    I can only hope the military is keeping an eye on him in the event he tries to use nukes. The Congress sure as hell won’t stop him.
    Christopher,
    I saw that video some months ago and it led to a discussion on the faux Fitzgerald blog which I, Suzie and GEF and Geezer used to comment on, on Bush’s condition. There was also an article in the Boston Globe back in which it was speculated that Bush has Alzheimer’s disease.
    On the blog, the following was suggested to account for Bush’s condition.
    Alcohol
    Alzheimer’s
    Too much of the old mary jane
    He’s just plain stupid
    Anthony,
    From everything I have read about that period when dumbya said it, I’m still under the impression that gerbil devil really believes that God told him to attack Iraq.
    He also talked about a crusade in those early days when he said that and that’s the sure sign of a deranged radical Christian zealot.
    He’s also a habitual liar and a full on paranoid like Hitler.
    Based on all that I don’t think he was saying it because of the Christian right. He probably geniunely believes it Anthony.
    Christopher,
    It’s either Lyme Disease or MCD…
    Dumbya Illness!
