From NBC’s Mike Viqueira
A group of House Democrats will introduce a resolution calling on the Judiciary Committee to begin impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) will sponsor the measure. It will be dropped in the hopper tomorrow.
It’s too early to say whether it will actually get anywhere.
Here’s the text of resolution…
RESOLUTION
Directing the Committee on the Judiciary to investigate whether Alberto R. Gonzales, Attorney General of the United States, should be impeached for high crimes and
misdemeanors.
1 Resolved, That the Committee on the Judiciary shall
2 investigate fully whether sufficient grounds exist for the
3 House of Representatives to impeach Alberto R. Gonzales,
4 Attorney General of the United States, for high crimes
5 and misdemeanors.

About time somebody does something to get that evildoer out of office!
Whatever it takes.
Yep…They shoulda done all this from the giddyup, just in case… We’re fighting devious crooks here, so have to think…antiRove. Same for Cheney, Bush, and Rove, shoulda had things rolling by now even if it involves overtime. Does congress think that the peeps aren’t working overtime?…G:
Well I guess my comment from yesterday was somewhat prescient.
Well I guess the House will be pretty much a slam dunk, but if Bush wants this guy protected, the Senate will let it by. They protect President before Country.
Lovely buncha coconuts.
But you know W will find a way to his great friend out of trouble. I really hope he does get impeached though.
I’ll introduce him to a rope with 13 coils atop a 13-stepped platform with swinging trap door installed, after Bush and Cheney have finished using it!
Exclusive: For Alberto Gonzales, a Decade of Scandals, with a Child Molestation Cover-Up to Boot
“Gonzales, speaking to police and prosecutors in Illinois this week, called on them to get “extremely graphic” in discussing internet child porn to get the public’s attention. According to this account, Gonzales repeatedly stressed the need to give the public more lurid accounts of what officers have seen.”
These disturbing findings by Dr. Corsi and Wired Magazine detail an even more disturbing picture of an Attorney General already embroiled in controversy. Further, it is clear that the mainstream media has continued to ignore this issue and will continue to do so as long as Gonzales remains by Bush’s side.
Oh Mr. Enabler…You stench, you have the publics’ attention on that already.
Ick… How “Republican”, to let such things like child molestation go, to sweep stuff like that under the rug.
I agree with Basheert, the Senate will be the obstacle. The House may not be a problem, but in the Senate it seems like Bush has so many loyalists… They would defeat a Gonzales impeachment, and then we would hear lots and lots of complaining from noodlehead media talkers about the “do-nothing Congress” that was put in office “to get things done but hasn’t done anything”. Hmmm…. I wonder why there hasn’t been much accomplished. Might have to think about that one for a while… hmmmm… 8-)>
